Reruns?

snow

With barely three weeks to go before my trip, it’s time to ditch my apartment. After a lightning-fast ninety days in my new place, my sub-lease is up and I’ll be staying with family for the final three weeks before I go. The summer flew by. At least I know where I’m moving to, this time.

True to my procrastinatory nature, I’ve left myself far too little time to pack and clean up in a calm, relaxed manner and still get my day-to-day rounds done. To top it off, I was only able to arrange a moving vehicle for Friday evening alone. Poor planning strikes again.

So in the interest of being somewhat on top of things before the weekend, I’m not going to publish a normal Thursday article today. Instead, I’ll direct your attention to the brand new Best of Raptitude page.

It lists the ten articles most popular in Raptitude’s first six months, along with my ten favorites. If you haven’t read them all, then pick one and pretend I wrote it last night.

By Monday I will be moved, and back to your regular programming.

Awesome, David! I can’t wait to hear of your travels. I actually want to read 88 Truths of Life again. It really captures the essence of your writing.

Hope everything goes smoothly (and even if it isn’t always so smooth, I’m sure an amazing story and timeless life lesson will come of it.)

Have a safe trip :)

Thanks guys.

Ha! I love it! I’m already pretending you write just for me. Now I get to pretend you wrote my post last night. Soon you won’t have to write at all… I’ll just come here and pretend there’s a new post written just for me each day! It’s the land of make-believe! ;)

This is so exciting! I can’t believe October is upon us already. I remember when you first told me about your adventure, that it seemed so far off in the future… and here it is! In a weird twist of fate, we are also starting OUR adventure in October. This promises to be an interesting autumn.

Good luck with your transition, d. Remember that, no matter how crazy stuff gets, we will all still be here (pretending) when you get sorted out.

Thanks Lisis. It sure has come quickly. I predict the best autumn ever, for both of us.

Thanks Dayne. This move shouldn’t be too bad, I don’t have a lot of stuff these days.

Take lots of pictures!

David September 24, 2009 at 12:43 pm

I absolutely will.

Anna September 24, 2009 at 1:38 pm

All the best with your travels David.

I’m originally from Auckland, an amazing city – easy access to the Bay of Islands, the Coromandel (try and get to HaHei/Cathedral Cove and New Chums if possible!), and the beautiful, rugged West coast beaches and Waitakere ranges.

I’ve only heard good things about Wellington, and it will be a great base for you to be able to access the South Island. The Abel Tasman coast track is magic and next on my list to do is the Routeburn track.

Although I’ve lived in London for the past 3 years I know that NZ will always be home, it really is special. I hope you have an amazing time, ka kite ano!!

David September 24, 2009 at 2:17 pm

Hi Anna. I do intend to visit the Coromandel, but I hadn’t decided on specific destinations. Whitianga and Hahei are looking like strong possibilities.

I have booked the Abel Tasman Coast track (I’ll actually spend Christmas Day there) and the Milford Track for the end of January. Routeburn looks beautiful, but I can’t do them all :)

Holy Moving Van, Batman! I can’t believe how fast time flies.
Is it time, already?

Thanks the head’s up notice, David. I actually like reruns when the programming is full of awesomeness. So, I’ll be heading over to your “Best of Raptitude” page for another look.

Be safe and enjoy moving – let the games begin! (Imagine the start horn sounding…)

Yes, it is almost time. And the time still seems to be accelerating.

Enjoy the reruns Lori :)

We are looking forward to post of your grand adventure. The next 3 weeks will pass quickly. It is difficult to select the 10 best posts. You put a great deal of thought and carefully crafted writing into all of them.

David September 25, 2009 at 6:34 am

I’m actually building a separate but related blog to post about my trip. I don’t want to inundate this blog with travel posts, so I’ll keep them all there. I’ll unveil it the week before I leave.

happy safe travels~ may your physical adventures manifest as those do of your spirit…

David September 25, 2009 at 6:35 am

Thanks Char. Body and spirit are both headed in the same direction, I hope. :)

It went pretty smoothly because I don’t have much stuff. I still have to clean the place though… tomorrow’s job.
