Donate to Raptitude
I’ve received requests from readers to give them an easy way to make a financial contribution to Raptitude. If the articles on this site have helped you, and you wish to make a donation, you can do so below.
Why donate?
The typical Raptitude article takes 5-10 hours to write, edit and publish, and it takes me another 4-6 hours a week to maintain and promote the site. Currently, I do not receive any other income for my work on this website.
My goal is always to make a genuine, meaningful addition to the lives of the fellow human beings who take the time to read. I love to write for Raptitude and my aim is to expand it and bring you more and better content, but I cannot spend any more time than I do currently while I depend only on other means for income. A donation, no matter how modest, is the most direct way to help Raptitude grow and help me spend more time writing articles.
Raptitude articles will always be free and you’re under no expectation to donate. Any contribution is appreciated, there’s no suggested amount.

I'm David and Raptitude is a street-level look at the human experience -- what makes human beings do what they do, and what that means in real life.
I write about how to make sense of the earth's most ridiculous animal, how to get better at being one of them, and how only those two things can save the world.

You may be different than me, but I often rationalized saying nothing by telling myself it's not important to fill silences, and that it's not "me." I say if a silence conspicuous or tense to both parties, it's creating a barrier. There's nothing wrong with changing yourself or your behavior,...
Sage advice! This reminds me of a video my husband just showed me from the TedxBlommington session. Shawn Achor did a very interesting talk on "The Science of Happiness and Potential" based on positive psychology. (http://www.tedxbloomington.com/2011/03/shawn-achor/) Some it sound similar to what you wrote about here. Awesome stuff!
A short but very powerful and enjoyable piece David. It's a gift to be able to capture such thoughts and express them so concisely. It's so easy to get lost in the multitude of advice out there about how we can find a more balanced existence. I found this...
